Narmin Sadiqova's solo exhibition "Myth" has opened at the Museum of Modern Art. The exposition presents approximately 40 paintings created by the artist in recent years on astrology and other topics.
The "Myth" exhibition has opened a new page in Narmin Sadigova's creativity. Along with the topics touched upon in the presented paintings, it seems that there is a new direction. The exhibition offers a unique experience to art lovers who are trying to explore the deep ties between astrology and artistic creativity.
Narmin Sadigova, with her artistic approach, depicted on canvas the unique aspects of the 12 zodiac signs - their mythological meaning, the influence of the planets and symbolism.
In this series of works, the artist, using the selected compositional structure, color palette and other means of expression, visually revives the individual characteristics of each zodiac sign, creates their artistic image. The compositions of these works, supported by astrological knowledge, allow a person to feel a deeper connection with the cosmos. Because each element represents the symbolic embodiment of the entire system and its interconnections.
Narmin Sadigova's creative style reflects modern aesthetic trends, differs from traditional forms with its originality and experimental character. Since her works are rich not only in artistic and aesthetic value, but also in deep philosophical content, the artist always attracts attention with her unique style in her projects. Narmin Sadigova's paintings in portrait, landscape, still life and other directions offer viewers a new perspective on the world around them, stimulate thought and emotional perception.
Narmin Sadigova has been engaged in creativity for many years and is one of the recognized figures of the contemporary art scene in Azerbaijan. She regularly participates in various local and international exhibitions.
In 2012, her first solo charity exhibition took place at the Four Seasons Hotel. In 2013, she became the winner of the "Lights of Baku" painting competition. In 2014, “Gallery-1969” held the artist’s solo exhibition “Voice”. In 2016, the artist participated in an exhibition held at the National Museum of Art. In 2017, “Gallery-1969” organized her second solo exhibition “Momentous”.
It should also be noted that Narmin Sadigova, along with other Azerbaijani artists, represented Azerbaijan abroad - in Italy, the USA, Latvia, the UAE, and Turkey. In 2019, she participated in the “Carrousel” exhibition at the Louvre (Paris). In the same year, her solo exhibition “Meraki” was held at the Museum of Modern Art.
In addition, Narmin Sadigova actively participates in various projects organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the YARAT Contemporary Art Center.
It should be noted that “Myth” is the artist’s fifth solo exhibition.
